Self-Appraisal

I read this short story today and would love to share it with you.

A little boy went to a telephone booth which was at the cash counter of a store & dialed a number.

The store-Owner observed and listened to theΒ  Conversation:

Boy: “Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?”

Woman: (at the other end of the phone line) “IΒ  already have someone to cut my lawn.

Boy: “Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price than the person who cuts your lawn now.

Woman: “I’m very satisfied with the person who isΒ  presently cutting my lawn.

Boy: (with more perseverance) “Lady, I’ll even sweep the floor & the stairs of your house for free.

Woman: “No, thank you.

With a smile on his face, the littleΒ  boy ended the call with a thank you.

The Store-owner, who was listening to all this,Β  walked over to the boy.

Store Owner: “Son, I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit & would like to offer you a job.”

Boy: “No, thanks

Store Owner:Β  “But you were really pleading for one just now.”

Boy: “No Sir, I was justΒ  checking my performance at the job I already have. I am the one who isΒ  working for that lady I was talking to!

Content with the results of his ‘SelfΒ  Appraisal’,

the boy walked away with a smile.

This short story inspires me to do good and work with all my heart in order to see and feel that smile of satisfaction on the faces of friends, colleagues etc.

Happiness is something that comes back to you as you spread it. And so is Satisfaction.

Did this piece of story bring a smile on your face??

If yes, share it and let it be shared. Lets spread smiles. Lets spread happiness. πŸ™‚
