What is poetry? I know not. I’m a mere amateur trying to be someone. Mind you, not like someone. Poetry, to me is elusive. I know about poetry just as much a new-born knows about the wide vast world. It’s an ocean to me, and I try swimming across, trying to reach somewhere. With words as my oars, I beat the waves.
What is poetry? I know not. I merely build castles of thought, words upon words. The bleak ones collapse, I sulk at the debris. Some laugh at me, mock me, and I’m lost in despair. Some manage to stay put, and give me hope. Poetry is mystery, and I’m a hopeless gumshoe.
What is poetry? I know not. I merely paint, draw, and write. With smiles, sometimes sobs, the canvas is filled with pieces of me, hidden in the sketches, between the letters. Poetry is like love; unconditional, carefree. I know not what’s good and what’s not. I know no rules, no styles. I bleed in my heart’s colours.
What is poetry? I know not. I merely try. When I crumble, poetry holds me on. The invisible bunch of words on the blank page in front of me, beckons me, to come drape them, with my nascent randomness. I stow the shy feeling as they invite me as their own. Frost, Cummings, Whitman, and Poe, they don’t belittle me anymore.

Reblogged this on IDLE MUSER (aka Aditi) and commented:
Why am I reblogging another blog’s post?- This should be the first question to be popping up in your minds when you see this week’s Idle Muser’s update, as I’m not somebody who reblogs very often. I remember it’s been just 2 reblogs on my blog in past 2 years. Here is the third one. Well, this one is primarily because of a bait, impossible to resist, thrown my way. I am going to receive a free book (I hope I do), in exchange of this reblog. For more information on this giveaway, you may click this link- https://themusingquill.com/2018/07/14/the-musing-quill-is-6/
But, now, when I look back, I wonder why did I never reblog her posts, all of which are equally deep, beautiful, well-written, informative, and mesmerizing. I shouldn’t have waited for her recent-most post to reblog her. Yet, I did; didn’t wait exactly, but never promoted this well-deserving poet, storyteller, and (by profession) a copywriter.
Why do I follow her, if you ask. I’d suggest you to visit her place once, just once, and you’d know the answer. Her blog, as much as is filled with beautiful poetries and stories and non-fiction, it has as many informative articles for all kind of writers. Hers was one of the initial blogs that I had followed, and boy! lucky I was. ‘The Musing Quill’ has not only helped me getting better, but it inspires me to write better and get better with my every writing piece.
Do visit her place. I’m telling you, you won’t regret a bit. This post of hers that I’ve just reblogged, is one of my favorites. It should be enough to make you curious about her place. Drop a comment below if you like her blog/ start following her after my today’s reblog.
PS- All the appreciation and praises are my own thoughts; nothing that I have written is just for the sake of impressing Asha (she already knows how much I admire her), nor is it to push you over her blog. I just wanted to express, once again, how much I adore ‘The Musing Quill’, and why do I do so.

Poetry is all which your heart. mind and spirit share with your many friends, happy, sad, in between. Your poetry is like a bread of life, as your spirit is alive in what you share…it makes minds give birth to many things, and we are allowed to know you better, especially your beautiful selflessness! I know not what I seek to write when the words flow, but they have come to life deep in my heart, and like your words, they are a treasure gift and blessing from the Creator, and it is also there to heal our souls make many smiles in others to come alive. Asha, all you share will mature in many beautiful ways…it just shows you are a wonderful human being, created by His love. I treasure you, my sister…..God bless you and your family!

Hi, just wanted to let you know about The Blue Nib a totally free resource for all poets. The site is split into two sections. The Poetry Project which is an open site for all to post, has the usual bells and whistles, community/social features/contests. The second part is the magazine which runs an open/frontend submission policy but all work is reviewed by editors before acceptance. I hope you come join and add some of your stellar work to both sites.

Hi Asha. On the open site you can submit directly to the site using the ‘write’ tab in the navigation menu 🙂 You must register first but that is very simple, you can register with facebook or just user name and password.
To submit to the magazine you can use this link http://magazine.thebluenib.com/ Work submitted to the magazine is subject to editors approval before it goes live on site. The Magazine will launch on Monday next. Would love to see some of your work on both sites.

What is Poetry? Poetry is a rhythm and a rhyme, a chance to view and see from a mind’s eye
what the writer feels or views inside. What is Poetry? It is a chance to lift and inspire to soar higher with words often not spoken , with words not often written but always felt.
What is Poetry? It is a piece of our soul that lay bare on a page for all to see a deeper look inside and show a vunerability. Poetry is more than words it is feelings expressed without there being a right or wrong just a insight that burns strong.
