Have you ever lied to your parents or friends?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you ignored people, consciously cruelly?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you had sleepless nights?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you left behind things?
Like earphones, mobile phone, money bag, maybe sunglasses, or grocery bags, etc.?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you been in a state of panic when you realised what you have lost?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you no idea at which point you lost your valuables?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you made excuses and then avoided meeting the person’s eyes?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you tried to be civil but with no heart, and ended up being in a rather embarrassed situations?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you tried to be patient with people who keep disrupting your reading?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you bumped into someone walking on the pavement?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you digested offenses for your carelessness?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you run into light poles and suffered a badly hurt head, toe or elbow?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you wriggled out of ceremonies, weddings and social gatherings?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you waited restlessly to be left alone in the room?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you missed a bus or a train, perhaps bus stations or cab stations?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you skipped dinner or breakfast or lunch?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you enjoyed falling sick, being bedridden?
Because you had your heart in a book!
Have you ever felt that the world confined in the pages
made more sense than the real world?
Because if you did feel that way,
Because if you did feel exactly the same way.
You are not alone!
I’ll walk by your side, dear fellow book nerd.
–Asha Seth

All the time. Most of the times.
Skipping breakfast and lunch was a normal routine, but not later I realized that it’s not healthy to practice this routine.
Lying and ignoring for books are something to be followed forever, as without practicing them, it’s next to impossible to have an unhindered read. 😉
Falling sick (unfortunately or fortunately, don’t know) doesn’t happen much with me. So, cannot comment over being bedridden.
This poem, again, is another magical trick from your wand. ❤ 🙂

If you got scolded for reading while lunch you partook
and when traveling by bus your bus stop you did overlook
and reading through the night, you went to work with a zombie look
then surely as day follows night, your heart is in a book

When I read a book then its only me and book.
A good book serves as window to visualise the story as it is described and becomes more and more interesting arousing curiosity in the mind of the reader to read more and more as the story progresses.
Love your affinity for books Asha Di.
I honestly admit that I do not enough time to read books during my regular semesters. But definately when the semester exams are over I am planning to read books.
Will read Malgudi Days written R K Narayan after the semester exams are over 😊.

Yes, true. And I guess we all have such poignant memories around books. I remember reading Anna Karenina for 2 days, at a go, shunning normal life, altogether.
Happy to have you here, my dear.
