Blogging. Not everyone’s cup of tea, eh?
It takes your life blood and sweat and what not. To start is not easy, to keep going is even tougher. But you know what the good news is? You’ve kicked aside the biggest boulder – apprehensions – and now the road’s easy to go! Nothing will prick you if you remain headstrong.
Blogging is all about letting others soak in your pool of knowledge. There’s immense gratification in doing something for the greater good and knowing you’re doing the right thing. Haven’t we all faced trouble in finding the right things over the internet? I still do.
That’s why when I started to blog, my ambition was clear – to blog about things, sought but not found; in writing, of course. So, yes, the journey is tedious, demanding, challenging, and sometimes, hardly rewarding. But no matter the challenges; time constraints or unavailability of reference materials, writing blocks or dry days, I remind myself each day –
Once begun, there’s no looking back.
To blog or not to blog? When that happens with me!
It’s the zillions of reiterations of topics that make me want to not blog at all. In the past decade, very few interneters reaped the fruits of true blogging by providing with quality content. As the digital wave grasps us all, now more than ever, there are billions of articles on each and every subject. But very few worth reading; most are just rehashed works.
So then, I say to myself,
Well, yes, there are loads of articles out there. Why should I blog about it? Why would readers want to read mine?
And just as naturally the answer comes to me.
I write from my own experience. And isn’t experience the best teacher? So, I write on. I blog on. And here’s me saying –
Help will always be given at Asha’s Blog to those who ask for it.
So,
To blog or not to blog? Isn’t the question!
Happy writing till we meet next.
Until then, carpe diem! 🙂

I feel like I’m not blogging correctly. I just put my thoughts to typing and that’s what comes out. If no one reads it I guess it won’t bother me too much, as I see it more like an online Journal of thoughts.

Beautiful written,
To be honest, I started only to express what I couldn’t to someone who actually induced me to this blogging.
I started blogging to reach to my love through words. It was never a difficult task for me because my objective target was only her.
With time I realised that responsibility attached to blogging and then I realized that I have come here in search of her but got to know so many wonderful souls here… that’s life I presume.. so today my daily challenge is two fold .. one is to reach to my love and two is to keep the spirit of human emotions alive, to
Energize the spirit of unconditional love and forgiveness in this material world …

Your motives are humble and most noble. It’s a good thing that you’re investing your time is such a god cause, consistently. As for your love, I’m sure your words will reach her in time, if not already. 🙂

Blogging really started out for me not for anyone else. A place to write my thoughts so I could learn more about myself; something to allow me to focus more on the world around me; something that helped me to be disciplined. It was a journal and a place to practice my writing, my photography and poetry–it just happened to be public. The secondary part of it, and delight of it became that I found a community, a family and so many friends. Some of these I write privately now and have come to respect on so many levels. They have taught me just as much as my own thoughts have made me grow as a person….xo

I think one truly appreciates something when it gives them inner peace and satisfaction, and that’s your story as I get. Everything you share with us, has a tinge of your love for writing and is great, I suppose. Finding people, you will. Because we connect with your work at so many levels and that’s what matters most. Keep learning, keep growing.

I completely agree with you here. It’s not everyone’s cup of coffee Asha. I know what it takes to be a passionate blogger. There has to be something going on in your head everyone. Even when you’re sleeping.
I remember once i was taking my exam and all I could see in my mind was- drafting my blog, fonts, colors, feature image etc. And literally that day i felt this is something which I’m passionate about. Extremely.
Even though, I don’t do anything for money it’s just when people are there to read you, you get more motivated towards your job. And that’s what i like about Blogging. It’s amazing. 😊
Thanks for sharing such wonderful piece with us Asha. 🙂

I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts, Sumit. When you know you’d rather blog than do anything else, is when you know you truly love doing it.
I can’t imagine a day, not blogging, or reading what fellow-bloggers write. It gives a well-deserved purpose to my day.

I’ve been blogging since 2011 with reasonable consistency and have met a large number of amazing people through it, although one of the perennial features of the blogosphere is the way people can vanish almost without notice. Most of the people on my blogroll no longer blog which gives you some sense of the turnover.

I think we live in such a unique time when our words can span over time zones and oceans in a moment’s time. I believe even when there is so much that has been said, there are those unique perspectives and experiences that writers can share in their own special way. Many ideas and experiences need to be said over and over again because our world is ever changing and reexamination and reminders by new voices is always important! It brings a new life to the core human spirit of introspection and observation. Hope you are well, Asha! ❤Anne

Agreed, Anne. No matter what we write, how we write makes all the difference. Charles Bukowski wrote a book ‘On Writing’ I read that I’d read. But then so did Stephen King. And although reluctant at first, eventually I did read King too. And only then I realised how worlds apart the two books were. So, yes, the different levels of experiences brought out by deeper reflection is what makes a writing unique.
It’s so good to hear from you. Ive been well, my friend. How do you do? 🤓

for some , blogging evolves and proves to be the best thing because of the experience they get by sharing their views and the kind of responses they get from readers. as you mentioned you had a good clarity on the purpose of your blogging ..and thats amazing . yes ofcourse journey is tedious sometimes .. lots of factors comes in .. but keep going ..

You highlighted one of the most important factors, Supreet. The responses we get, what we wordlovers crave for, is a reward in itself.
Having clarity is a must, or your content can go all over the place. So, it was some time when I realised exactly what I wished to write. That can happen though, isn’t it?
I quite appreciate how you explore a plethora of things in your writing.

Oh yes, there’s so much to be inspired from. And most times, to me, it comes in the form of thoughts from friends and readers. And at times, unconsciously, they help me get out of certain tight situations. I swear.
So I guess, all you guys, are doing a splendid job in sharing what you do, day in and day out.
I love to undress words, strip them off what they are draped with and most times, it’s the most raw, innocent emotions of a reader. Ahh! The pleasure one derives. 🙂

“Why would readers want to read mine?’
Similar question came to me when I started out on my blog and no one was reading it. I was given this brilliant advice: If you write it, they will read. So I kept writing and eventually “they” read 😄

It happens all the time, Sonya. Sometimes, when I do not get enough responses on a particular post, inside, I feel a little disappointed. I can’t stop thinking that I did not do something right. Something did not click with my readers.
And then I park aside that feeling, have some chocolate (Lupin’s idea has become my mantra :P) and start afresh.

It’s the platform where we share our thoughts, which can’t be shared with friends.Even we find different people with same thinking and tastes.Soo we can grow together mentally. We open our heart and mind to write blog.which is wonederful

And ironically, when I publish the darkest of my secrets here rather than share it with friends, when my friends read it, they go berserk. 😛 Even for me, the joy of finding like-minded friends in the blogsphere is paramount. And learning, I’ve realised, is never-ending. 🙂

It’s funny really how we’ve started. I remember that none of the articles I would read then could explain simply what blogging means. I remember posting weird and irrelevant things at times. For me too it was 5 years ago. Now when I look back and find those in the archives, I prefer deleting them.
Ahh! The woes and the waves we passed through and just how we’ve learnt things! Jerry 🙂

You have good points: it is hard to do at times. It takes a lot of dedication and discipline. Blogging is for everyone, but not everyone has what it takes, patients
