Everything around
feels indifferent
suspended in limbo
forlorn and forgotten
losing life
breath by breath
♥
old books on the table
dried flowers on the mantel
cold ash in the fireplace
rotting sausages on the plate
unmowed uncared lawn
creepers unkempt overgrown
clock hands flicker in vain
dust-draped photo-frames
faces with fading smiles
mirrors covered in slime
the wooden door shrieks
the ceiling still leaks
the walls are peeling
the paintings discoloring
♥
room after room
feet drag me into memories
somewhere in the distance
a girl chases her father
her giggles and chortles
make his morning merrier
♥
presently, the floor board creaks
under my weight
best left forgotten
it begs for me to leave

There are things which you know but you are not aware of them. And when you write something and then read it, the awareness comes and there is a realization of wisdom that you gave yourself..good sign

I think that makes sense. When you’ve written something, a sudden realization hits that it has been inside you for so long that it was lost from the conscious mind.

I think being in two places at once, in one moment, is a splendid feeling. I was going through that and this came out of it.

I did take long this time, to get back to the comments. But I am right back now. I had the pleasure of visiting your blog. Your poetries are of a different nature. I need a sane mind to truly understand their depth.

that’s so beautiful Asha! And a coincidence that I an unfinished one which has exactly opposite tone! But making such a nice piece even with a sad tone is a talent!

This is sigh-worthy poetry. So vividly descriptive and nostalgic. It reminds me of walking through my grandparents’ house just before we tore it down.

That’s one bitter-sweet feeling. And I don’t know whether I should be happy or sad the poetry made you feel that way.

Happy that I feel, for even sadness is a welcome companion for it’s a reminder that I have loved and still love

You are a true writer poet my dear sister and also a friend, here is a poem to lift your spirit to smile the way you make me do when I read what you share. You are gifted…God bless!
‘A Genuine Friend’
There is a love which lives deep within
A genuine one which will never go away
No matter how one might try to release it
In our hearts and minds, we find it stays
Whenever another touches our inner being
While bringing their pleasant peace inside
We find ourselves to become comfortable
As we begin to embrace them in our lives
They may become genuine friends who care
They might become sisters and brothers too
They brighten our lives each time they speak
Changing gray skies to ones of crystal blue
The hearts of these special ones we care for
Are so genuine and selfless in every way
They are in our lives for special reasons
Making sunny our cloudy and rainy days
Whether you are a dear sister or brother
Or the truest friend one in life may find
You are a treasure to those who love you
Because of the selfless heart in you, we find.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just continue to write what you feel Asha,
know all that you say and share is important
to those who care…you never know how many
feel that same way too!
