Dear Asha, Your kind comments are much appreciated. You write like an angel! I wrote the following to a friend after I ‘discovered’ you…EXUBERANCE
She poured out of herself
onto the virginal page,
out of the book
and into him.
They marry soon.
Both your letters are heartfelt and beautifully expressive. More of the same, please. With much affection Joy xx

Wow! This was beautiful. Like the last song of a good album, that you want to just keep going on, and the heartbreak that comes after the last note has played.

That’s a brilliant way to put it. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. Pradipta. This was tad lengthy. So appreciate your patience. 😛

Length doesn’t faze me, and it better now because my own stories are seldom below 1000 words. But oh God, how well you write. It’s a pleasure reading you 😊

My pick is Cain Norohna, but no prize for that as it’s led by sympathy.
But will his last letter get opened ever or the words just got burned/ melted away?

Oh this broke my heart. I sensed it was coming part way through (this led to such an urgent feeling to read on!!) but hoped it wouldn’t. When she received the letter my eyes welled up. This was so well written and so moving, I think I cried for both of them! You’re an amazing writer. Thank you for letting me know part 2 was up, my reader has been a pain lately!! 💐💙

I feel I have a thing of characters who are lost in vain, for instance, Severus Snape. And somehow I feel they’re a part of me.
Thank you, Arbie. Your thoughts matter. 🙂
But I have to ask you this – Who did you like more – Elina or Cain?
LikeLike
Is it cheating to say both? 😝 I think if I were pushed to choose I’d say I’m more interested in Elina! Hmm, but I think I felt more sympathy for Cain. 😿

Wow. Brilliant. You did really like Elina. I didn’t like that she was so secretive with him. And I loved Cain. The fact that he is so human makes me fall in love with him.

The entire narration is very engaging and engrossing that one doesn’t want the story to end. The best part is the male protagonist is not infallible and has weaknesses that make it so human so is the female character who intrigues. I didn’t expect the end but you brought novelty to it. A superb read

Quite some observation. The end was something, yes. It was as if I was stirred by some force in that direction; what I had planned was something totally different and bit happier. But when I read what I had done, I fell in love with it. Who did you relate/convince better with – Elina or Cain?

In fact, both Elina and Cain who emerges as rather strong characters but love Elina since she is intriguing.
LikeLike
I liked Cain for his vulnerability. I guess I was that way once. Elina is too strong and I lack that.

Tragic! Heartbreak can drive people to take extreme steps which is quite sad. Life is God’s gift and we should honour it.

Yes, I wanted it to be sad how else would it strike a chord within us! But Kath, do you think it would have worked any other way?

That’s cool. Sometimes in life there are sad moments. There’s not always a fairy tale ending. Honestly I don’t know. I would like to think so, but I can’t honestly say. I don’t know.

This was a sad ending .. but I loved it nevertheless and I just wish they had reunited. This last unread letter you mention. I’m curious about it ?
