We burden our conscience with the opinion of others, and let ourselves be impacted by what they say, don’t we? Yes, we do. Is there an escape? I know not. But I know this,
Not everyone might appreciate what you do. But you know what the good part is – not everyone matters.
Now that is my personal quote. But here’s one from the King of Horror and just how!
So, do rejections matter? What do you think?
Happy reading till we meet next.
Until then, carpe diem! 🙂

This is so relatable. From primary to high school to currently I have been showing friends and family my work. Each person has not liked it for different reasons and it made me question if I was a useless writer and give up. When they said good things I would question if they were qualified to know what good is. How easy I would expect bad over the good. What I have learnt is to find people with writing styles similar to yours that are strong enough to not feel less by you being good. Find people who can critique and make it sound complimentary. I feel it’s the only way to improve without being pandered.

I don’t think they matter. As long as you believe in yourself and you know your worth, what others say it’s completely irrelevant. Rejections are just another difficulty to surmount along the path of self-acceptance and succes.

Rejections and defatist opinions can harm us. But, we shouldn’t be confined in a box to fit in. It’s about our lives and dare to go against the crowd for being a pleaser never worked. Amazing quote.

I believe in taking the positive side of a rejection. Every thing that we consider negative has a positive push. We must select accordingly and work towards it.

Loved the quote. Not knowing if the content is good and relying on other’s comments surely takes up your mind. Criticism is a part of writing and it feels good to keep working even after your results are not what you expected and still trying to give your best. Never stop.

That makes so much sense, Kinjal. Criticism, does help improve if one does not let it sting the creative nerves.

Loved your quotes Asha and No what matters is what you Think.. And I have found constructive criticism only serves me to keep creating.. We learn by our mistakes, though there really are no mistakes. For we are all of us growing and learning..

When taken in good spirits, criticism does help in learning and growing. Come to think of it, it isn’t even half as bad as giving up altogether. Thanks, Sue.

Good question. I think rejections matter if they help fuel your fire or improve when it’s all said and done. Not so much if it doesn’t. You said it quite brilliantly I think, not everyone matters so not all rejections do. ✌️
