#WritingInspiration is one space through which I am going to introduce some amazing writers to you.
Today, let’s talk about Madeleine L’Engle. Have you have read any of her books? She wrote children’s books primarily. But it was her adult fiction novels that won her a gamut of awards, honors, and medals.
Did you know her novel A Wrinkle in Time was voted the number two children’s novel behind Charlotte’s Web. With a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ from the ‘World Fantasy Awards’ to the ‘National Humanities Medal’, she was not only an amazing writer but an equally inspiring figure; someone to look up to.
Here’s one of her quotes that I’ve pledged to follow till my last breath. Do the same and it’ll do you much good.
One of her other quotes that’s stayed with me since I was kid is this:
“You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.”
That’s all for today, folks!
What did you think of the advice? Of the three things, Late Ms. L’Engle asks writers to follow, how many do you find worth your time?
Happy writing till we meet next.
Until then, carpe diem! 🙂

Awesome quote Asha, saved it to my pinterest. I do write or at least try to write everyday but am lagging in the other two. Thanks for the reminder!

Well, with our hectic routines, it does get tedious to follow up on things we’d rather do. But as long as you write consistently, I guess everything else falls in place. 🙂 Happy to see you around.

I loved this book as a child and now my daughter is loving it as her teacher reads it to their 3/4 grade class! My daughter is so excited for the movie to come out soon, but luckily will have read the book first=) Great post and wonderful author! ~Anne

Hey Anne! How have you been? Your daughter really is fortunate to be able to read or be read to, such books at such an early age. I wish I had the luck. And well, I am now excited about the movie. Although, in India most Hollywood movies are never released, unless they mean commercial success; or so I guess!
Much delighted to have you over. Hoping all swell.

Very well! My daughter is lucky. She has been read to since she was born and continues to prefer being read to, but has a love for reading books and drawing. She wants to be an author/illustrator=). It really is so important to read to children. Even though she still struggles with spelling words, she has an amazing vocabulary. We are reading the sequel to “The War that Saved My Life,” right now. They are both absolutely wonderful novels that I would highly recommend. Hope you have been well and have found some new endeavors! How has your father been? ~Anne

It is so nice to learn so much about your daughter. She seems so full of life and God bless her. That she wants to be an author feels so good. She may have a thousand stories to share, I wish. TWTSML is new to me, so I need to check out on that one. father has been all right for most bit and then he gets caught in the current of biological illnesses. Thank you for asking. Felt so good to know you care enough to check on him. You’re a star. Anne.

Thank you Asha. I was so grateful that you asked my opinion about documenting the lives of your parents after one of the posts I wrote. When I see you, I think of that right away. You’re in my thoughts, and I hope you get a chance to read the books. Being an avid reader, you would go through them quickly! ~Anne
