Writing Inspiration #19

Hello, readers!

I have returned from a week of a perfectly wonderful holiday; speaking of the places I had the chance to visit, and a perfectly horrid one; speaking of the transport troubles. I shall be posting about my experience soon enough. What can I say? I missed you guys and all the writing that goes around this place. But here I am now and I have so much catching up to do.

For this week’s #WritingInspiration post, I had no one, in particular, to focus on. So, I explored a bit and came across Natalie Goldberg. To begin with, I had never heard of this writer before and was surprised to see that the internet is full of her quotes and works. She is an American author who has several published books to her name. She writes about how writing is an escape. She says,

Writing practice is no different from other forms of Zen practice —”it is backed by two thousand years of studying the mind.”

If you wish to know more about her, here’s where you’ll find her.

I went through snippets of several of her works, and she looks like someone a budding author can bank upon. Her book – Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within – appears to be a gem of a book (considering the reviews) for writing enthusiasts, and I hope to read it some time soon. Here’s a beautiful quote from this book:

Have you read any of her works? And what do you think of the quote? Relate much or zilch? Do share your thoughts below.

Happy writing, till we meet next.

Until then, carpe diem! 🙂
