Neil Gaiman’s writing is awe-spiring. His stories give a reader much food for thought. There has never been a time when I have been disappointed with his books and that is simply because he knows what a reader seeks. He always explores different storylines with distinct character sketches for the protagonists, always. I can write about the protagonists years after having read the book; that’s how vividly he creates them.
There is no doubt he is a skilled writer; whilst being a storyteller at heart and a word or two from him on the nuances of writing is what I always cherish. You will too if you have read his books. Here’s one timeless piece of advice he’d shared in one his interviews. I had to trace it in order to share it with my readers. Because I know it will benefit you much, just as it has benefitted me on various occasions.

Good quote and really astute. I read Neverwhere before American Gods; Neverwhere was my very first Gaiman actually, if one doesn’t count short stories and it was really really good!
The very first Gaiman was Snow Glass Apple. It’s Snow White from the POV of Snow White’s Step Mother.
It was devastatingly beautiful!
But, I gotta tell you one thing: American Gods kinda ruined Gaiman for me. I was not impressed, man. He wrote Neverwhere way better than American Gods.
My two bits.
But good quote, man 🙂

You better start with The Graveyard Book and/or Coraline and/or Ocean at the end of the Lane. These books are worth everyone’s time.
