More than half of the year passed by within the blink of an eye. Rest half of it was spent traveling through some of the most beautiful canvases of the country. All in all, I can’t say if I am happy or sad. It’s a neutral ground I find myself in.
I dig my heart for stories to tell. There are many happy ones but overshadowed by the grief from the greatest loss the year burdened my soul with. I am yet learning to see life from a lens sans father. I don’t know if this stubborn heart will ever come to terms with it. Result: the pain is exceedingly much but I shall survive, I know this.
Come 2019, I don’t know what to expect. I haven’t the heart for resolutions. But I welcome it open-armed. I guess that’s good in a way – to let the heart accept things as it comes. What do you say?
Books have been the single-most consolation. I spent fairly good amount of time reading this year. Out of a set goal of 84, I touched upon the lives of 75 books and that is one thing that makes me happy. The cherry on the cake was the secret Santa gift.
I finished this book in mere 2 sittings and that’s the kind of books I love to read. I shall review it soon but in a nutshell, it is about a teenage boy named Harry Ackerson who returns to Maine upon his father’s death, to live with his step-mother, Alice. Soon he learns that his father’s death wasn’t an accident but murder. Sinister things start happening around him and more deaths follow. Harry’s life is in peril and he must act fast to save more than one life.
It’s a perfect book for a morning-after-Christmas read after you’ve opened your gifts and got a mug of hot chocolate ready for yourself!
That’s all from me, for now.
Do tell me how was your Christmas. What are your plans for the New Year? Any resolutions? And most importantly, what did your Santa get you?
I bid 2018 goodbye with a heart for no regrets and wishing you and your family a happy new year, in advance. Have a peaceful and prosperous one. See you in 2019! 🙂

Keep reading. Your personal universe is vaster than that of most people and will continue to grow. Books allow is to dwell in another dimension of experience.

You are always a part of all things happy and sweet, J. For these past 7 years now. There is no way I would trade having you for a friend with anything else; not even my ever-impending meeting with Tolstoy. 🙂

There’s no need to trade friendship, just book recommendations!

Yes, sure. And yet, sometimes, I just want to tell people how I feel about them.

Travelling is probably the best refresher ever. Clears up your mind. There’s so much noise and stupidity all around. Feels good to cleanse your soul off the toxic sediments.

I quite agree. Traveling is my next best addiction after reading. May you travel loads this year.
