and those books
were not just words on paper
but souls who understood me better
than all the things of the world
put together
~~~~~
So, here’s the thing – I intend to publish a lot of poems this year.
Why?
Because:
1. I love writing poems
2. I found an abandoned lot of scribbles from few years back.
I shall polish and publish them. I hope you enjoy them as much.
Tell me what’s happening with you. What you up to?
Any resolutions you trying to keep up with this year?
Tell me all about it. 🙂
Wow, I think that’s great you’re working on publishing your poety! I dabble in it from time to time… but maybe i’ll try writing it more othen. Good luck! I actually just started on my blog here just over a week ago. I really hope it goes well, and that people enjoy it. I want it to help me with my own writing, since I intend on finishing my own stories and publishing them someday.
Starting up something you love to do is one of the best things you can reward yourself with. I really hope it gives you the satisfaction you’re seeking.
Do write them all and publish them. We, readers, are suckers for stories.
I am following you now, Dejah. 🙂
We have become a firmly visual society with a short attention span which pushes reading as something loathsome to many sadly. But it good to see that you Asha and your followers continue to carry the torch of words. Reading helps us to think to expand and keep us young. My goal for 2019 is to finally start and finish writing my book.
Our attention and concentration spans are mighty altered, true that. But a true lover of words, will always find his way back to the paper, no matter what. I guess, we are a crowd that is too old-school to change to the new trends or maybe, I am speaking for myself alone. Whatever it is, as long as one’s happy, it’s great.
My wishes to you on your book, Jerry. I hope ’19 sees your story/stories on paper.
I agree. As much as I read on line I still enjoy hard printed material and yes I am working on a story …it is a process to make it come together.
Mutual love it is, yes. I do count on seeing you often, love. It’s been a while we haven’t chatted books.
That I shall. But I refrain from the fear of interrupting your bookish or not-so-bookish daily endeavors.
It’s never an interruption but a welcome distraction. Besides if I can’t make time for my dear friends then I would be a terrible person.
Travelling has been on my mind this year. Started with Jaipur this month. I hope I will be able to take more short vacations this year.
How was Jaipur? Where all did you visit? Tell me all. I’m so excited to know as I plan to travel there myself.
Sketching poems and this one about books is brilliantly weaved. A good start and personally keep jotting poetry on my iphone. I have an old project of coming up with poem anthology and hopefully, can wrap it up this year. No resolution since it never goes beyond few days. haha! But need to learn to driving and will do it since it can be painful taking the bus. You feel it when gotta go for groceries with loaded bags 🙂
Thanks, Vishal. I always long to know your thoughts. As I’ve realised, I get a peek into some unacknowledged perspectives that then becomes the birth-ground for some other work.
Learning driving, I think is great, given you can always meet stunning hitchhikers on the way.
No resolutions for me. I am way too bad in keeping up with them.
That is why I dont understand people who think that books are over-stated. Books are reflections of somebody’s world. This is always valuable.
I quite agree. I don’t understand those who hate books either. Just because they are bookishly uncivilized they think it’s a world for retards. Respecting someone’s hard work and passion is a gentlemanly thing to do.
