Writing is tedious process. It is rewarding but tedious. One can’t deny that. It takes more than mere dedication and passion. Some days are dry. No ideas. No thoughts. Leading to no inspiration, ultimately. But persistence with consistency is the way ahead; if I may be allowed to say so. Inspiration may not come for days. It’s like that kid who loves to hide in nooks, especially when he knows that mommy’s looking for him.
On days that seem dreary, don’t look for inspiration; look for your pen instead. And write about those ‘inspiration-less days’. Yes, take charge of your inspiration. Chase it. Go after it the days it won’t come to you. But don’t stop. Never stop.
What do you think? How do you get inspired? What do you do on days when inspiration is low? 😛 Do share your thoughts below.
Happy reading till we meet next.
Until then, carpe diem! 🙂

Totally agree. But then I say, if inspiration is playing hide n seek, it is time to unwind. I let my dreams take charge of me, attend to things I had put aside, wander away from my comfortable surroundings n invariably stumble onto something new or something insignificant. It is the most trivial thing that brings back the lost inspiration.

Loved Jack London as a young reader. Sometimes inspiration drops into my lap. Sometimes I have to invent it.

Agree with you – writing is rewarding, but there are periods when finding inspiration can be tricky.

I just start writing, and at some point the creativity and ideas kick in. Sometimes you can’t wait for it to happen-you just have to go after it 🙂

I love the days when the imagination and inspiration are in sync with one another. Then there are days when my brain is like oatmeal. A sloppy sticky mess and I lose my flow. I try to find other means of obtaining the mojo back by writing off of a picture and/or word prompts. If that doesn’t work, then I just write what is happening inside my head at that very moment.
I don’t like myself to fall out of the scope of writing because I’m very fearful of my depression taking over. Writing is motivational, and also helps to keep the anxiety away as well.
Great post!
