What does that mean to you? Do you relate as a writer? I sure do. But with some deviation.
We have a thousand thoughts in our head at all times. When it comes to writing, everything appears jumbled the minute you have to streamline them. It is as good as a school PT drill where you ask each student to stand in queues and allot them tasks, individually and in groups. The obedient kids obey. It is the mischievous ones who require restraining.
Similarly, it is with our thoughts too. All seem to be in a rush when it is time to give them a face or a voice. And most often, as I have come to realise, what you write is far different from you intended to. Or let’s put it like this – you start up with one train of thought but end up with something totally different.
But is this bad? Is this wrong? I don’t think so.
Because I believe that it is the writing that guides you than the other way round, that squeezes out of you, whatever you manage to put down on paper. The thinking takes a route of its own, as if it has a life of its own. And all you do, in the end, is marvel at what is born, from the deepest recesses of your brain.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is that as long what you’ve scribbled makes sense, everything else makes sense. Whether we are happy with the end result is what matters.
Looking from that lens. here’s this quote from Michael Cunningham that you may agree with:
Do you agree? What are your thoughts? Do share them in the comments below. 😛
Happy reading till we meet next.
Until then, carpe diem! 🙂

So much of what you’ve written here jumps out at me as thought I’ve had recently in regard to a short story I just finished. As I approached the final revision stage, I had to ask myself, “Where is the story speaking of its own accord and where am I smothering it with my forceful expectations for it?” I had to remember to let the story breathe, and in order to do that, I had to forget publication as the end goal. All that matters is that I created something I put my heart into.

I believe this thought too that our writing has it’s own soul, we begin with one thought or one idea but it ends with in it’s own way. And as a writer you will always find flaws in your older work but I think that happens with all the creative people. To be too satisfied with one’s work may cause death of creativity.

Sometimes it’s very difficult to align our thoughts .. and bring them out on paper..but when we do..it turns out to be something different..but beautiful ❤️

I completely agree. It easy to think but difficult to organize thoughts. From thinking to writing continuous editing keep going in our mind. The version we write is sometimes completely different from the version we have thought.
