5. What role did editing play in the writing process? How did you decide when the manuscript was ready for publication?
Editing was a crucial part of my creative process. Initially, my focus was on pouring my emotions and thoughts into words, without worrying about perfection. Once the poems were down on paper, the real work began. I revised multiple times. First, I clarified the message or feeling I wanted to convey. Then, I refined the language and rhythm of the poems. The book includes both English and Hindi poems. I had to make certain the cultural nuances worked in both languages. I also ensured the poetic flow was seamless. This bilingual aspect made the editing process both challenging and rewarding.
6. Do you have any upcoming projects or ideas for future books that you’d like to share with your readers?
I do have some exciting ideas for future projects, though I’m keeping the details close to my heart for now. The creative process often evolves in ways that surprise even me, and I want to let the work unfold naturally. But I will say this: my next project will build on themes. These themes have been brewing in my mind for some time. For now, I’ll leave it at that—sometimes, a little mystery can make the wait even more thrilling.

With my debut book, I aimed to reach a wider audience. So, I shared free copies with friends, family, and my wider network. In today’s digital age, social media plays a huge role. I’ve used platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to promote my work. I also value feedback from dedicated readers, and their reviews have helped spread the word. It’s all about building connections and fostering a genuine relationship with my readers, both online and offline.
8. How do you balance your writing career with other aspects of your life, like work and family?
Balancing writing with work and family is definitely a challenge, but it’s all about flexibility and prioritizing what matters most. I don’t have a specific time set aside for writing—it’s more spontaneous and flows when inspiration hits. I write during quiet moments at home. I also write when I get a burst of creativity during my workday.
That said, my family has been incredibly encouraging and supportive throughout my journey, and that makes all the difference. Their understanding allows me to carve out time for my passion, even on the busiest days. It’s a juggling act. With their support, I’ve found a way to keep my creative life alive. I balance work responsibilities and family time.
9. What’s the pen ultimate takeaway for readers reading your book?
The takeaway is that my readers feel the emotions expressed in the poems. Whether it’s love, loss, joy, or contemplation, they find these emotions relatable and close to their hearts. Ultimately, I want them to see a part of themselves in my words.
10. What’s the one advice you’d like to share with aspiring writers of the genre?
For aspiring poets, my advice is simple: don’t wait for the perfect moment to write. When inspiration strikes, just pen down your thoughts, no matter the time or place. Writing is about capturing those raw, fleeting emotions, and you’ll never know when the perfect line will come to you. Trust your instincts and let the words flow naturally.
