like a book, I’m reading you

unearthing you

marveling at the enigma that’s you

revering every layer I peel off you

but there are times

the pages are stuck together

the mistake is a mystery to me

I end up tearing a few

trying to do it right

I lose track of the story so sublime

there are paragraphs missing

wayward endings

clueless beginnings

I have no hold

over the plot anymore

as if I’m staring

into voids galore

And then I wonder

if it’s all on purpose

certain dark things, after all

are kept well hidden
