Starting a blog isn’t easy. And it could feel tough if you don’t know how to start a blog or the reason why you should start a blog. As you see, there are many reasons to be discouraged. That’s why in this blog post, we will focus on the positive reasons to start blogging. I’m going to share my thoughts worth a decade of blogging with a hope that you will feel motivated to start your blog.

Be a Subject Matter Expert

You can position yourself as an expert on the topic and connect with your audience by creating personal and in-depth content that they won’t find anywhere else, such as blog posts. Blogging is an excellent way to reach out to and connect with your target audience. Blogging allows you to build an audience of people who are interested in similar topics and are looking for a place to find that content. Your blog could be the place where they discover it, and this is a great idea for content creation.

Gain new abilities

I started blogging for fun when I first started. I never imagined I’d be able to learn enough to make writing my full-time job. You can learn a lot more than just how to build and manage a blog. Your knowledge is also increased by the content you write about. To give you an example, I spent several years writing about book reviews. It’s now a subject I know inside and out and can apply to other aspects of my work and personal life. I also learned new skills such as video editing, designing creatives, research, conducting interviews, etc.

Connect with your audience

Every day, we receive positive comments about how our travel tips helped someone plan their vacation or long-term trip, which makes us happy because it shows that our work is meaningful. If you’re good at designing a flat, cooking, landscaping, or overcoming a difficult life situation and dealing with grief and anxiety, don’t be afraid to share your knowledge with the rest of the world with the help of a blogging platform.

Beat your fears

Blogging was a great way for me to break out of my shell. As an anxious introvert, it was difficult for me to put myself out there and let my thoughts and ideas be heard. Blogging provided me with a platform from which to shout, allowing me to confront my fear of being noticed. And in doing so, I realised there are others out there who are similar to me.

There are numerous other ways to use blogging to face your fears. It can be used to overcome impostor syndrome and feelings of inadequacy.

Generate Passive Income

This is most likely the most important point for you. Yes, it is entirely possible to make a living from your blog; in fact, many people do. But, while it is possible, it is not simple. Those who are successful and make a living as bloggers have been honing their craft for years. During that time, they have been experimenting and testing different things to see what works.

Make New Friends

Starting a blog exposes you to a large community of new people, which cannot be denied. There is a vibrant community for every blogging niche. What’s great about this is that it allows you to meet new, like-minded people. Because you share common interests, it will be easier to make friends. And you’ll discover that blogging communities are not only welcoming but also helpful to new bloggers.

Consider both sides of the argument and weigh them against your own personality, lifestyle, and ambitions when deciding whether or not to start a blog. Examine your options and be honest about what you truly want from the experience. I hope I was able to make your decision to become a blogger a little bit clearer.

In the next post, we shall talk about ‘How to start a blog’.
