Meet Asha Seth – Founder of MissBookThief

Asha Seth is the Founder of MissBookThief, a book marketing and author-branding agency, based in Mumbai, established in 2012.

What began as a personal book blog grew into a specialist ecosystem for authors and publishers, bringing together book marketing, author branding, media and PR, influencer outreach, publishing support, editorial services and digital marketing.

With a background in advertising and over a decade of experience as a Advertising Creative Director, Asha brings together creative storytelling, strategic marketing and a deep understanding of the literary ecosystem to help books find their readers.

From Book Blogger to Book Marketing Founder

MissBookThief began in 2012 as a book blog, created out of a love for books and the conversations they create.

Over the years, the platform evolved into a professional book marketing agency working with authors, publishers and books across genres.

Today, MissBookThief has marketed 300+ books in India and abroad, and built a growing community around book discovery, author visibility and literary conversations.

The philosophy remains simple:

Every book deserves to find its readers.

Her Professional Life

Asha’s work sits at the intersection of books, creativity, and marketing. Long before she founded the literary start-up ‘MISSBOOKTHIEF’, she spent about fifteen years working as a copywriter and moving up to a Creative Director in Advertising agencies across India including the likes of Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, FCB India, Publicis Groupe, Creativeland Asia, etc.

Her approach combines the creative instincts of an advertising professional with the editorial perspective of someone who has spent years reading, reviewing, and talking about books.

Beyond Founding MissBookThief

Asha is also a writer and poet. Her Hindi poetry collection देवदार के फूल (Deodar Ke Phool) was published in 2023. Her English poetry book The Color of Us was published in 2026.

She has also worked as a translator, including the Hindi edition of Sanskriti Ka Mahasangram, translated from The Great Battle of Culture, the award-winning horror novel, Khandav by Mahesh Rajmane, and few other titles.

She is a literary editor, translator, and consultant working with independent authors and writers.

Her Long Long Affair with Books

An author and poet herself, Asha Seth believes book marketing should be about more than visibility. It should be about finding the right readers, creating meaningful conversations and giving a book a life beyond its launch day.

This belief continues to shape MissBookThief’s work with authors and publishers.

#HarGharReader is her vision to create a reader in every home across India.

Rewards & Recognition

Asha Seth is recognised across India’s literary and book-influencer ecosystem, since more than a decade.
