If we ever meet again,
I wonder what the years will bring,
Will we have words we never got to say,
Or just a smile for everything?

Perhaps we’ll meet beneath an autumn sky,
Where fallen leaves remember where they’ve been,
You’ll ask me how the years have passed me by,
I’ll smile and say, “They’ve been kind.”

Perhaps I’ll notice you still laugh the same,
Perhaps you’ll recognize my quiet eyes,
And though we’ve both forgotten half the names,
but memories never really say goodbye.

If we ever meet again,
Let’s not ask why we let go,
Just know it wasn’t the end,
But one more place we had to grow.
